Stretch and Fascia

Fascia & Stretch Massage

Massaging the fascia.


Fascia – consists of gentle, flexible and stretchy strands of proteins presenting like coiled springs, tightly attached to muscles. When we move, these interlocking collagen fibers allow almost unlimited range of movement.

Physical strain in excess may cause pain, discomfort which result in reduced and limited range of motion, a common misconception about muscles.

To overcome the limitations of the body’s range of movement, a special practice focusing on loosening the fascia rather than muscles needs to be approached. This follows the same part as reflexology or shiatsu. The departing difference is that the practitioner’s main focus is on limbering the fascia prior to engaging on stretching the muscles. This approach is preferred because it limits chances of straining the muscles due to over stretching techniques.

The client remains in full and comfortable clothes while the practitioner focuses on massaging the fascia, ending with a gentle and passive stretch performed on a comfortable massage bed or a mat on the floor.

He incorporates his Body Chronicles©technique together with his experience as a Gyrotonic™ trainer, martial artist and personal trainer to bring you a series of exercises that will gently stretch and strengthen your muscles, whilst still making you sweat. Give it a try for a " workout with a difference"

Pilates is regarded as one of the most holistic exercise forms available due its focus on alignment, strengthening and stretching of muscles as well as the focus on concepts of breathing, posture and the "mind-body connection."
Each class is tailored to the needs of the class attendees. A maximum of 5 attendees makes for an intimate learning environment with loads of guidance and attention to detail.
